The function of this device is to measure vibration and displacement using a non-contact method. For this purpose, an oscillator is employed in which the distance-measuring probe acts as a coil serving as the inductor.

As the probe approaches a metal surface, its inductive capacitance changes, resulting in variations in the amplitude of the oscillator’s output signal. By extracting these amplitude changes and applying linearization, a direct relationship between the probe distance and the output signal can be established. The circuit is powered by a 24 VDC supply with negative polarity, operating at a current of 10 mA.

In the design of such instruments, extremely high measurement accuracy, temperature stability, and frequency stability are of critical importance. The use of feedback-based design and electronic compensation circuitry are among the key highlights of this system.

To enhance measurement accuracy, in addition to utilizing high-technology components, the electronic design must feature very low noise levels. To improve stability and resistance against thermal drift, thermal compensation methods as well as temperature calibration have been applied. The incorporation of feedback-based design and compensation electronics is one of the outstanding aspects of this system.
